I have learned so much in the week I have been in Kenya. The first thing I want you to know about is the exact location of Doro in Sudan. I was completely off. The map below will show where I am going to be working. I am actually pretty close to Ethiopia!
At the Christian Life Conference I learned all about SIM Sudan and what it is composed of. There are at least 6 posts in South Sudan with over 50 workers from 6 countries including Ethiopia, Kenya, New Zealand, UK, Canada and USA. It has been such a joy to pray and worship with our fellow workers from all these different places! We sing worship songs in 3 different languages. I have met the entire team who I will be working with in Doro. Just at our post alone there are 3 nations serving together (Ethiopia, US, and UK). This team in Sudan has truly grown in the past year. Last year’s conference only had about 20 people and this year’s has over 50! We are really excited to see what God is going to do in Sudan this next year!
I will, Lord willing, be leaving for Sudan on Feb. 5th. I will be traveling with 2 nurses Amy and Grace and Dr. Masters and his wife from the UK. We will fly to a town called Loki on the northern border of Kenya and Sudan. Then we will take a smaller plane straight to Doro, Sudan. There will be 2 nurses already there working on the 2 training centers, one for community health and one for basic midwifery. I will be working with Sandy another nurse and Dr. Masters on establishing the clinic. There is a lot of work to do and much to plan, so please be in prayer for wisdom! As you can see our team is pretty big. We have a BLEC program, which stands for Basic Learning Education Center, run by the Ethiopians. Ray Lee will be SIM Doro team leader for us SIMers and he and his wife, Anne will be doing training and discipleship even wider than Doro. There is so much going on I can’t get it all on one letter. Please email me if you have any questions. These next couple weeks I’ll have more time to check and send email. I will also be able to send a few emails from Sudan through a satellite phone. I am hoping to keep my blog updated straight from Sudan.

2. Souls of the people who I will be coming in contact with
3. Peace in Nairobi and through out Kenya
4. Wisdom in setting up the clinic in Doro
